The once-lush strawberry vines now taken over in the front yard

Watching Boo at the overgrown butterfly bush, witnessing their departure

Kai sprawled out in the sun of the backyard

Seeing my little brother grow taller than me 

The snaking of Rural Point Road

The pang in my chest when I go home and see how everything has changed

Knowing Richmond Henrico Turnpike by heart

The times I have walked the Fan until I felt like I couldn't anymore

My yellow doorway

The place where I learned to ask for help and accept what happened 

Learning to forgive myself
